Mr. Jay Patel and Mrs. Khushi Bhavsar both have presented one model on plastic to power. They both actively participated in the CVMU Hackathon 2023 where youth will actively participate, design, develop and demonstrate their innovative skills. They both have an attempt to solve problems regarding Solid Waste collection, sorting, and their serious issues on a daily basis, instilling a culture of product creation and a problem-solving approach in students.

CVMU’S ISTAR college Department of Environmental science (EST) and Hygiene and safety jointly organized WORKSHOP on Industrial Hygiene related Instruments at the workplace on account of National Safety Day-2023 on the 4th March,2023. Hazard monitoring is based on the acquisition and the interpretation of a signal indicating changes in behavior or properties of a hazardous phenomenon or the occurrence of events. In this context, the Alumni expert Mr. M. Bilal was invited.
Mr. Bilal was mainly emphasized on the instruments, which are used for measurement of noise, particulate matter, volatile organic matter, gaseous pollutants, heat measurement, and light measurement. He also gave on-hand instrumentation training to our students.

Mr. Jay Patel and Mrs. Khushi both having participated in model making, Mrs. Kashish Bodana has participated in poster making competition and Mrs. Baiju Vacharani has participated in scitoon making competition. It has been very privileged and proud that our two of M.Sc EST (Sem II) student Mr.Jay Patel and Mrs. Khushi Bhavsar presented model on plastic to power in PG category in Science Manthan 2023,Charusat University and they both have secured 2nd position in biological sciences, at PDPIAS CHARUSAT University.

CVMU’S ISTAR college Department of Environmental science(EST) organized a one day visit to Meteorological Department, Anand on 24th January,2023. In which students of M.Sc 2nd semester of EST enthusiastically participated.
Dr. B.I. Karande, Assi Prof. from Meteorological department gave a knowledge about about various meteorological instruments like cup anemometer, evaporating pan, wind vane, sunshine recorder,recording type of rain gauge and automatic weather instruments. Karande sir also gave the brief introduction about working of automatic weather station. The students also see the vermicomposting techniques like Bangalore method, Indore method and barrels methods to convert the agriculture waste into the vermiwash and vermicompost by using worms. The students also learned of different medicinal plants and their values and benefits by visiting the Medicinal plant nursery.

One day visit is organized in Mechanical workshop of ADIT college for MSc semester II students to enrich the knowledge of identification of occupational hazards and their preventive measures on 6th January, 2023. Students must learn the machines involve moving parts, sharp edges, hot surfaces and other hazards with the potential to crush, burn, cut, shear, stab or otherwise strike or wound workers if used unsafely.

CVMU's ISTAR College Department of Environment Science and Technology and Environment Science jointly organized one-day educational visit to Nalsorvar Bird Sanctuary on 26th December 2022 successfully.
Mainly inhabited by migratory birds in winter and spring, it is the largest wetland bird sanctuary in Gujarat, and one of the largest in India. It was declared a bird sanctuary in April 1969.In which the students of M.Sc fourth and second semester of Environment Science and Technology department of ISTAR College participated enthusiastically. In which students were aware about the migratory birds, their habitat and importance of biodiversity. Students also visited island in and around by Nalsovar bird sanctuary In addition to that tourist guide emphasized on importance and significance of different kinds of Winter migrants from the north including purple moorhen, pelicans, lesser and greater flamingos, white storks, four species of bitterns, crakes, grebes, brahminy ducks and herons visit Nal Sarovar. Students have also collected the water sample and sediment sample from this wetland and analyze the Hydrochemical Parameters and Quality Assessment.

An Industrial visits provide the students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. It gives the students an exposure to current work practices as opposed to theoretical knowledge being taught at their college classrooms.
Department of Environment Science Technology organized one day industrial visit to Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) and Landfill Site(NECL) (Nandesari Industrial Association ,NIA),Nandesari, Vadodara on 11th September,2022 successfully.In which the students of Department of M.Sc Environment Science and Technology(3rd semester) ISTAR College participated enthusiastically. Where the students observed the new technologies like primary treatment, Electro-oxidation Technology as well as Hydrodynamic Cavitation for effluent treatment and their maintenance.Students also gain the knowledge-associated with sludge and their treatment and disposal. In addition to that, students visited the Hazardous Landfill site in the NECL, Nandesari. In which they all were aware about the transportation, storage,disposal (TSDF) of hazardous waste and their prior operations before disposal of Hazardous waste.

On 22nd September, 2022, Two of Alumni’s of EST ISTAR Batch (2013-2015),Mr. Pratik Sanghani and Mr. Chirag Charle have surprisingly visit to our department.
Mr. Pratik Sanghani currently working as Project Manager R & D Department, Green Group of Excel Companies, Bhuj and Mr. Chirag Charle working as EHS Manager, Reliance Industry Vaododara Mr. Pratik give advice to the students to do the research in various fields of environment as the course is multidisciplinary talks and also talk about how research projects and field visits have been managed/handling. However, Mr. Chirag have given the interview tips and also consider how each job aligns with your long-term career goals and assess the culture of each workplace and what are the current or upcoming challenges in industry/field.

An Industrial visit is a vital part of Environmental science and technology study which provides a technical and practical platform to have insight into the industrial working environment along with getting practical knowledge.
Department of Environment Science Technology and Department of Hygiene, and safety, ISTAR, VV Nagar jointly organized a one day industrial visit to 13.5 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant, at Anand. on 2nd September,2022 successfully. In which the students of Department of M.Sc Environment Science and Technology ( 3rd semester) as well as the students of M.Sc MIHS Department of ISTAR College participated enthusiastically. Where the students observed, the preliminary treatment, primary treatment, secondary treatment, and tertiary treatments process and their maintenance. In addition to that, students are also aware about the disposal and treatment for sludge. The students also visited the Environmental testing laboratory and SCADA unit for the examination process.

CVMU's ISTAR and NVPAS College's Department of Environment Science and Technology and Environment Science jointly organized one-day educational visit to Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary. on 5th August 2022, successfully. In which the students of M.Sc first and third semester of Environment Science and Technology Department of ISTAR College as well as the students of S.Y and T.Y B.Sc of NVPAS College participated enthusiastically. In which students are aware about the forest ecology, importance of biodiversity, importance of wildlife in detail. Students also visited two water reservoirs situated in sanctuary area- one at Kada and the other at Targol. These water bodies add to the aesthetic settings and habitat diversity. In addition to that tourist guide emphasized on importance and significance of forest productct and their uses.. Total 32 students of MSc 1st and 3rd semester EST, ISTAR and 20 Students of T.Y and S.Y Environmental Science, NVPAS students have participated.

CVMU’S ISTAR college Department of Environmental science(EST) organized Expert talk on 28th July, 2022. In which students of M.Sc EST 3nd and 1st semester are enthusiastically participated. Dr. Pratik Mehta, Head HSEF, Essar Power Gujarat Limited invited was invited as Guest lecture. Dr. Pratik Mehta emphasized on the topic of EIA Process and Environmental Legislation. In, which he gives his brief idea about environmental law, legal requirements for industry and CRZ notification (2011). He further highlighted on Parivesh website running by Ministry of Environment and climate change.

Ms. Kunjal Patel, student of MSc EST 2nd Sem secured first position in the written exam conducted by WWF ENVIS RP during FY2022- 2023. She also successfully completed certificate course in Bird Identification and Basic Ornithology (Level-5 of NSQF) Under Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC),Government of INDIA, New Delhi, at WWF India, NEW Delhi From 25th May,2022 to 15th June,2022.

The Environment Science and Technology department and Environment Science department of CVMU's ISTAR College and NVPAS College organized a one day education trip to Pariyej and Kanewal wetlands on 18th December 2021, successfully.
In which the students of M.Sc Environment Science and Technology Department first semester of ISTAR College as well as the students of S.Y and T.Y B.Sc of NVPAS College participated enthusiastically. In which students are aware about the conservation, importance and restoration, importance of migratory birds of wetlands in detail. In addition to that teachers are also emphasized on how to collect the water samples and sediments at various depths. Total 30 students of MSc 1st semester EST, ISTAR and 22 Students of T.Y and S.Y Environmental Science, NVPAS students have participated.

Mr. Shrinath, Excutive Engineer from the STP plant gave briefed about the history and the projects undertakenby the plant. The students viewed the preliminary,primary, secondary and tertiary treatment operation and mainataince of Sewage treatment Plant.The students also visited the laboratory and SCADA unit for the examination process of Inlet and Outlet samples.
